    I love threads like this!

Here's some tips for excellent smoke:

Take a can of spray paint and coat your air filter. Let it dry.

Set your timing to all negative values.

Stuff a rag in your intercooler lines.

Pour motor oil all over your turbine housing.

Take a screwdriver and hammer, and knock out every other blade in the turbo.

For those who think "smoke = mad POWA!!" bring it on. I run 10 second ET's with little to no smoke at 6400+ lbs, and can humiliate most sportscars on the freeway.

If your 80HP tune is smoking, you shouldn't be tuning. You have no talent for it. Anyone with a shop rag can make a truck smoke. It's not "tuning" though.

You've just taught "BullyDog, Diablosport, Superchips, Hypertech, and Edge" something, and I hope they're listening. Seriously, these are the worst offenders.

Wow this thread is soo old, and interesting

but BIG smoke is not the best... A light haze is the best no smoke at all= not enough fuel, Big black clouds = to much fuel.

Dont get me wrong any diesel with a decent tune will smoke when the turbo is not spooled up and you give her 100% throttle.

see its kinda like a honda kid wanting to remove the speed limiter on his 17 sec honda...

1st-If he dont know how to do it he shouldnt be doing it...
2nd-he will learn when the black and whites get him.
