Lost Scanner and Editor Icons on my laptop. Why?

The editor and scanner can still be clicked on and the programs come up but the Icons seem to have been lost? Why and how do I put them back?

You mean in your taskbar correct? Not sure why the icons change in all honesty nor how to change them back, might want to google for an answer in this case.

I keep HP Tuners on my desktop. The icons showing both editor and scanner were lost. That was the lightning bolt and the wrench icons.

Go to start at the lower left of the desktop then choose "all programs", find the editor and scanner in the list of programs, right click on the editor and scanner listed there and choose the "send to" choice, then click on "desktop (create shortcut)". The shortcut/icon is now on your desktop ready to be put where you want it.
