    Mode $34 Request Download

    After looking at:
    http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/archive.../msg00167.html

I thought about J2178-1, Physical data field format 2, which places the Physical Target Address in front of the Physical Test Mode (pg. 259 HS-3000/99)

Then I wondered about J2190 Test Mode $34 Request Download- tool to module and I remembered Paul's Quote

Here's a quick list off the top of my head (by no means complete):
VIN number retrieval is not supported via J1979 mode $09 - uses J2190 mode $3C instead.
Scan tool data rates ($00-$04 not supported - uses $14 and $24 instead)
J2190 mode $18 not supported uses mode $19 instead.

So maybe this is why GM chose not to Implement J2190 mode $18 and used Mode $19 instead.
Any idea what "The rest of the frame is length and address info" is?

    $6C $10 $F1 $18 $34 $?? ... $cs

I have ATAP V2 but I haven't gotten around to playing with the LDV commands yet. I can't wait for the weather to break ;D

    Re: Mode $34 Request Download

    Just a late night thought,

    $6C $10 $F1 $18 $34 $00 $00 $00 $01 $FF $FF $cs

    3 B header Mode (start 24 bit add)(end 24 bit add)

This will fit in the GM "NO IFR" 12 Byte limit and allows for the second side of the flash program located at address $010000.

Tom Hussey worked on a 1997 PCM 16242921, It looks like he posted LT1_obd2_tside_dis and 97dmp.exe on the diy-efi ftp site. He also had some 'internal help' that he could not share.

    Hope this helps
