For a basically stock 5000lb truck, the ol' girl can really boogie. The 5 Speed really helps with that and MPG.
I averaged about 15.5 this winter on my 93 tune. Haven't had the tune in the summer yet.
Still average about 16.5 last summer on the stock tune with 87.

All the mods were just done and I have purchased HP Tuners with the intent of learning how to tune it but about ready to just do a mail order tune just to get it drivable. So much information and so little patience lol

Well, this is HP Tuners and not Hpyertech so I wouldn't suggest it.

Those tuners are only good for people that don't wish to learn things themselves and want a plug and play type thing. I can't tell you how well their product is because I've never bought one.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I had one before HPT.... All 1/8 mile tracks around here, 2010 Denali 6.2 all stock went 10.01 on the hypertech, once I got HPT's and got a handle on its gone 9.53 so far and I feel like theres more in it.... And gets 21mpg on the interstate now too, which is up from the 17mpg it was on the hypertech.

I have a 2000 Chevy 3500 with a rebuilt 454 or 7.4L vortec. It is mostly stock except bored 30 over with RV cam. I am trying to tune the factory black box and making slow progress. There is plenty of information on line for the LS motors but not so much for the 7.4 vortec.

You picked the complete wrong camshaft for a stock torque converter. Good luck tuning with that thing, it's going to drive poorly without a larger stall converter.

Never pick a camshaft based on the cam numbers and the sounds you hear on youtube. Pick it based on goals and how you want it to drive.

Back a hundred years ago (feels like, anyway) the most hilariously awful combo I ever put together from leftover parts was a completely stock long block Chevy 305, Comp 280 Magnum cam (230* @.050), Victor Jr, 750DP, and a stock converter. You could hold the brake and nail the gas and it would just sit there, calmly, at like 1600 RPM and do absolutely nothing at all. Release the brake and it would drive away, calmly, until it got to ~3000 and then boil the tires off.

Since this is a free country, I toss cinderblocks at every douche that drives by my house with straight pipes.

    2017 Silverado 3500 6.0 E78 ECM T43 TCM

Got a 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500HD WT 6.0 flex. 6800 curb weight. Have HP Tuners for a couple of weeks and been tuning transmission successfully. It?s amazing what a little tuning can do. I have a Circle D 3000 stall on order and I?ll install the wide band while I have the exhaust section out when I put the converter in. Been learning, surfing the forum. Thanks all.
