    Re: Truck Owners

    Hi all;

I got the hptuners for me and my brother, he has the 5.3, k&n cold air, exhaust, 4.11 gears, lowered, and i have the 6.0 ss awd, same stuff.

Got a question tho, his engine has a nasty bog when he floors it. Reminds me of an old holly opening up to quickly and leaning out. Any ideas where to go to fix that?

    Thanx,

    Nick & Mike

    Re: Truck Owners

I have a 2004 GMC Z71 Extendend Cab, 5.3, 3.73's and I just got my hp tuner. ;D I started the tune last night but I had a question, Is it ok to leave the MAF sensor connected while you tune the LTFT ? I tried it and it seemed to work fine I got -2 to 1 on everything after about three 20 min scans. I took a long ride on the 4th scan about 45 min, everything still looked fine all -2's to +2's, So I decided to start the PE and on the 5th scan I was watching the air/Fuel and that went fine seemed to run great I made severl WOT passes. When I got back I was looking through the Hgram and noticed the LTFT's went from -4's to +5's is that normal because of the WOT or did I screw something up?

Recieved HPTuners about a week ago and trying to figure out the process. The more I read the more I'm getting confused. STS turbo and various other mods. 2004 rc/sb 5.3 etc.

    Re: Truck Owners

I also would like to tune my truck, and if I caught Keith's wink correctly on another post maybe my Modified Ram (Bored TB, Mopar HP Alum Heads(Flowed), Headers, High flow cat, Comp Cam, Jacobs Pro Street Ign. etc) will finially get the custom tune it deserves. The second car needing a tune is my 04 GTO.

    Re: Truck Owners

I have been tunning my truck with edit for a few years now but am currently debating the switch to an '02 pcm (for false knock reasons) and HPT. I also have a buddy that is in dire need of tunning on his 01 so now looks like the time to switch.

    Re: Truck Owners

The 02 pcm is definately worth it, i had a custom tune from a tuner shop using hptuners, when i switched to the newer pcm it was a world of difference. It can take a bit more timing and there is no false knock.

    Re: Truck Owners

I am new to HPT. The reason I am here is I want to fine tune my 4L80 in Tow mode to behave like I would manually control it. Shifts way too much up and down.

Just got mine, now I cant use it

    2000 RCSB Z-71
    2002 PCM
    2002 LQ4 6.0
    Cam motion 223/226 .576/.574 on 112 + 4*

Using my 00 PCM cause the 02 is locked, and a tune a friend picked up for a TR220 cam, still having some idle problems (bad) but Ill get it straight when I get a chance to mess with HPT a little more.
