    tachometer inaccurate?

hey, I'm new to the forums. just ran my first scans today on my GT. aside from what I think is normal KR like crazy WOT (8 degrees in some spots), it seems like my tach isn't accurate at all-- like its reading 300 rpm 'higher' than HP Tuners shows the actual rpm's being.

anyone have any ideas? if it is inaccurate, can I modify it to be?

Yeah the stock tach on most vehicles is very inaccurate, there is no way to make it less inaccurate, just get an accurate aftermarket tach.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

thanks for the quick reply! so if there isn't anyway to make it more accurate, I guess I'll just leave it as it is lol. I was surprised to see it was off by that much though, I thought it just might be the 3.29 gearing making the huge difference in RPM at speed vs. my buddies 98' GTP with the 2.93 gearing.

    thanks again

Actual RPM difference should be only ~11% between the two vehicles.
