Set up your PE as shown to eliminate the delay going into PE.

Post your stock tune, and I'll set up the shift pressures. Does your truck have the tow/haul button?

Try these shift pressures & I halved the upshift torque reduction table.

Ask support about adding the TCC duty cycle tables.

I have the same truck with only the cai, too. Any chance one of you can send me the optimized tune for it? I would like to see some improvement going over mountain passes while towing RV. I'm lucky to be hitting 45mph towing 7000lbs over the Appalachia mountain passe. My truck spec is:

2000 GMC Sierra k3500 dually old body style
    engine 454 7.4L v8
    automatic transmission 4L80
    Borg Warner transfer case
    4.1 gearing

Modifications: cold air intake, 3" dual exhaust, rest all stock.

Try this. Made a couple power enrichment and timing changes. Also 50% torque management.ccK3500 - West.hpt

Thank you so much, I'll try it out and let you know how it goes on my next RV trip through the mountains! I would be ecstatic if I can pull at 55mph-60mph. If it doesn't work I am considering upgrading to a 29# fuel injectors.

Do you have a wideband? Bigger injectors won't help anything if you don't need the extra fuel. You're stock so I highly doubt you need them.

Play with your spark on your next trip. Spark tuning is pretty simple so long as you take it easy and stay safe.

You might also want to try some trans tuning. Play around with the blue cat program some and see if you like it.

You can only do so much with tuning tho, the real power comes from extra parts you throw at it (cams, heads, power-adders, etc...)

If I can't reach a 55mph target with what I have, I'll definitely put in a wideband for a more serious tuning. Do you have any good links/tips for spark and transmission tuning? What is the blue cat program?

So my general steps for tuning are:
    MAF
    VE
    Spark
    Trans

There's hundreds of different sources of tuning information, I'm not one of them. Lol. I like goat rope garage on youtube. He has an entire series dedicated to gen3 engines. There's minor variances between operating systems but it's all basically the same. Are you 0411 swapped?

The blue cat program spits out transmission tables that you can copy over right to hp tuners. Google "blue cat transmission hp tuners". I can't post it here or email, it won't let me.

Are you worried at all about fuel economy or is your truck strictly a tower?

I have two setups to my power enrichment. "Normal" and "Carb'd"

My normal allows me to accelerate normally and drive at 14.7, but extra power is there if I give it extra.

Carb'd... it gets just about all the fuel it wants when it sees any load.

I have several tunes from dyno'd stock trucks, to mine, to a 489 someone built. But they're all using 0411s so there's not much to do.

You need to get a wideband and start logging. Messing with PE on a purley stock truck is fine... it's when you go putting bigger injectors and other goodies in that you HAVE to start with the VE, then the MAF, then you can work on power. 28# (not 29) are not a bad idea as the factory injectors aren't great, they leak, and the factory sized bosch replacements may leave you wanting if you put headers on.
