if anyone needs any help with this i am more than happy lend a hand. Just shoot me a pm
So how would you manually uninstall the hptuner drivers and install the ftdi drivers where they need to be also which ftdi drivers do you need?

You should be able to create a signed driver by following this guide:
    http://www.minasi.com/newsletters/nws0903.htm

Once the driver is signed you will have to import the certificate on your machine that matches the driver. Unless HPTuners wants to purchase a priv/shared certificate that someone can use.

If I have some time I'll try to get this done, but I'll be pretty busy the next couple of weeks.

    i'm wondering the same thing

i have it so that the F8 will work, but i'd rather not have to do that ever time.

Bill I used the direct link I posted in a couple of the other threads to install the drivers onto my computer. But before you install these drivers using the *.EXE file you MUST uninstall the drivers you currently are trying to use. Then run the *.EXE file and then go about installing the suite like normal. It has worked on my computer and I didn't do any F8 trick's or disable any digital driver signing to make it work.

I currently run this software on 3 different laptops and I am currently using a HP Mini running XP sp3... When I can get back to my other computer that runs Vista 64-bit I will completely unistall everything and try to make a video tutorial of installing the drivers and then the software. May take a few weeks to make where I'm pretty busy these upcoming couple weeks.

Sorry still no luck on the video... my fiancee' has pretty much taken the new laptop and called dibs on it so I rarely ever get on it. I know alot of people are still having issues even with the exe file that I linked. What you must do is make sure that all drivers are deleted. I've had usb->serial drivers like ftdi.sys really screw with my hptuners drivers as well so keep that in mind as well. If you try the method I posted above and it still doesnt work then you will need to find the location that the .exe file installs the drivers and manually select that driver location and install the cable drivers from there.

What exactly do we need IN the video? If its just a walk thru of the (2) methods on the threads previous page (1) instructions I can do that tonight. Even the whole unistall drivers option mentioned by LSxpwrdZ can be included. Anyone have hosting space for it?

i just purchased an asus laptop, on startup did f8 and it brought me to a screen that had load safe mode, etc. On the bottom it said load drivers without digital certificates. I selected that loaded the driver and no issue's so far.

So is everyone still doing the F8 thing?
My current laptop wont charge the battery. I thought about buying a new 10", but if you guys are still having problems, I'll just put a new motherboard in this one.

Thank you for this post. F8 worked great, spent over 2 hours jacking with this. Is Windows 7 going to be this hard? My laptop is getting ready to go out to pasture and I hope it is not hard on the next gen OS. HP Tuners needs to play a little catch up on Windows OS vs: software compatibility.

I read some where that we can create a .bat (batch) to automaticly do the F8 & Turn Off Function at every start up.

I have been researching this every day but i dont know how to write the .bat file to do such.
