    1988 corvette obd1 program

Hey Guys. A friend of mine is having a problem with his vette and asked me to see what I could find to help him out. His computer seems to have lost some of the program. Thats what his mechanic is telling him anyway! It all started with an idle issue and I told him to check the egr. He hasn't modified it or installed a programmer chip (hypertech etc.) I am looking to see if there is any programs out there for it that I can throw in it. I am not familiar with the vette computer.

Stock 88 Corvette...should be a 1227165 ECU, best stock Corvette bin is ARAP (TH700R4), Chip is a 27C128, free software try Tunerpro 4.0. If your looking to replace the chip you should get a memcal adapter to avoid soldering tramua.
This site has software and your bin http://www.supportfitness.com/mark/tunerpro/

    Memcal adapter try...http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=32

Of course you'll also need a Eprom writer to write a new chip messing with the original is not a good idea....if this is getting too hard then just go to the wreckers and pickup a replacement memcal complete with socket and the ARAP coded eprom, I'm assuming your friends stock chip is the ARAP, check existing memcal to confirm bin ID and replace the suspect one, this info may be a bit late to help but better than never.
