    4l60e tuning

Hey guys, i recently had a friend tune my 00 ws6 with a 232/237 .591 .599 112 cam and bolt ons with a 3600 rebuilt fuddle stall..and later it started having issues where under wot it wouldnt shift, it would bounce off the limiter, so my tuner made a new file to try to fix it and i'll post it...also the converter locks up kinda at funky times and surges at times on the highway...what do i need to do to fix these issues? can someone please take a look at my file for me? thanks!

The trans tune looks like a mess but I am not an expert. I would have your "tuner" put the stock trans tune back in it and start over.

yes guys, please help us here. I am the one who is tuning the car and have no idea whats going on with the trans tuning. We searched the tune repository here and found a speed inc tune and currently have that in the car. This last tune here is from this forum.... He is also a cam car, so shift mph is going to be set abit higher...

here is a formula to help with shift points man.... i am very new to tuning and this helped me alot....

    MPH =
(RPM x Loaded Radius of the real wheel) divided by
(Tranny Gear Ratio x Final Gear Ratio x 168.06)

Loaded Radius = from the ground to the center of the wheel. (mine was 11.75)

    A4 Trans Ratios are
    1st..3.06
    2nd..1.62
    3rd..1.0
    4th.. .8

Fianl Gear ratios are 2.73s or the optional RPO GU5 3.23s (M6 are 3.42s)

Hope this helps man... im on my second day of owning HP Tuners.... I think its gonna be a long hard road to a good tune, lmao

those are some pretty abusive looking pressure settings (and modifiers!)... I bet that thing slams pretty hard.

With and aftermarket converter your minimum TCC duty cycle should be sett to 99 and the Max to 100 to disable PWM of the converter clutch. His trans tune looks good if you want it to shift hard but remember to use his torque magmnt settings as well.

    4th gear ratio in a 4L60E is .7 not .8.

My trans is not stock so look at mine for a reference. It shifts very smooth cruising but hits pretty good when on it hard. There is no torque management enabled. 3.73 gears and a 28" tire.

    I thought it was 90 and 100.

At 90 your still allowing the converter clutch to slip. 99 and 100 it should be locked or unlocked.

did 100/90 and tried 100/99 and it didnt help anything...

now the car will not shift under WOT and just bounces off the limiter and when i downshift at wot it immediately jumps up and starts bouncing off the limiter...also is locking/unlocking randomly when im cruising...
