    93 OBD1 who knows it

Trying to find out some more info on a 93 setup.

I have tried 4 different people to tune my car and have had poor results by all. They were all mail order since no one in my area will do it for a non outragous price.

The car is fine in most terms except it sometimes hunts for idle but it just lacks performance overall.

I plan to go carburated next year due to this issue and due to the part options opened up by using a gen 1 block.

Car is just a simple heads and cam 93 camaro with a stage 3 heads and a hotcam kit. Nothing radical. Car will run best of 13.0 with all bolt ons and on a slick with a 3000 stall and a 3.73 gear.

Car is in correct running order except for the IAC valve problem that has just popped up.

Anyone have some info or insight on the situation before i go carb'd????

Have you tried Rooster @ PCMforless.com?

If I were you, I'd do it myself.

Read http://www.akmcables.com/eprom.htm and check out the link to Thirdgen.org for the EPROM tuning document. It's excellent reading and will tell you everything about getting the pieces together to burn your own chips.

This page is also helpful. Roger has disassembled the 93 BIN, and I used his page for stuff like setting the 4th gear torque converter lockup (which wasn't in my version of Tunercat for the '93). Check out http://www.cableone.net/rahmrh/promwork.html

So, Tunercat to edit, Roger's notes, TTS Datamaster to do datalogging and analysis, an eprom programmer & eraser, and you'd be on your way.

    HTH,
