VCM Scanner logging of gear selection

How do I set up a MPVI Pro to log the selected gear on my A6?

I don't see a PID for selected gear.

    • Open up the VCM Scanner
    • Click on "Connect" but don't actually start scanning
    • Open up the PID list and you'll see a lot more values for the transmission including "Trans Current Gear".

    Hope that helps,
    Christopher

Thanks but why don't these show up if I am not connected?

I don't know the exact reason, but I'm guessing it's because those parameters are specific to a certain transmission.

If your not connected the scanner doesn't know what peramiters to load. Its sensing which car its supposed to scan as its connecting. Switch vehicles sometime and watch as it goes thru a series of screens to load vehicle configuration. It will load relevant tables per year/make/model if available.

I have the trans gear logging but the number displayed when it changes from one gear to the next is 12 or 15, so it will show say gear 1 then as it changes it shows 15 then shows gear 2. Any idea why?
    Thanks, Steve
