    WOT 02's aren't locking

I just scanned my car for the first time with new motor aswell as it being the first time using the HPtuners scanner.

This is on a 98 gtp full rebuilt motor with heads, Intense S3 cam, balance shaft removed etc...

The car hasn't had a case learn done yet if that makes any difference.

I initially had a miniAFC on to lean out my idle a little bit because of the fumes are pretty bad (temp solution until I learned how to do it with hptuners) When I did WOT runs, the 02's weren't locking whatsoever as if it wasn't going into open loop.
I parked the car and was thinking that the miniAFC was causing issues so I removed it.
I did 2 other runs at WOT and the 02's locked. I was thinking that the miniAFC was shot.
Then on the third run and every run afterwards, same problem again, 02's won't lock.

What could be causing 02's not being locked at WOT?
The car felt strong when they locked but felt real weak when they didn't.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Scan your map and TPS and see if there are any clues there. Those are the things that trigger PE mode. Otherwise, you are just SUPER lean so be careful. Do you have access to a wideband?

    Hi,

Map is ok and TPS reaches 100%
0 KR until I hit 3 gear and then it blips to 3 then goes back down to 0

I hope this eliminates that stuff

I am diagnosing this same problem.

I have the LS6 Maf, and whenever I would punch the car would stutter, and act like the tranny is slipping.

I used my ICCU to see if I could hinder MAF flow,

Turns out, when I Scaled 96-97% of the signal, the car pulls like hell.

So try taking your MAF table, say from 30lb/min on up and reducing it some.

I would only do this with wideband in place.

I found out that this is TCS related.
I still haven't figured out what exactly is happening but when I turn off TCS, it works normally

    John,

I am embarrased. I thought I had gotten back to you. Sorry dude!

What's happening is that when your car goes into TCS mode it looks up the AFR and goes lean. Go to Edit/Engine/Torque Management and click on Traction Control System AFR. Set all those entries to something like 11.5 or so. Mine are set to 11.0. While you're at it, go to injector disable table on that same tab and set all the entries to 0.

Then go to Abuse subtab and set both AFR text boxes on that page to 11.5 or so. While you're there, set the Injector Disable Number on that page to 0. There's a lot of good stuff in those tabs. Let me know if you want me to walk you through it. I'll try not to forget this time.

    John
