MY PCM (GM 3800 SC L67)

Here are a series of images taken while taking my PCM apart. This PCM is a GrandPrixStore reprogrammed PCM. You can see the proof of this after opening it up.
The Flash chip has definitely been taken off.

Modem users be warned these images are bretty large (average size=60K).

My question is this. The chip is an Intel AB28F400BX I went to the EMP-20 page and that chip is not listed as being supported. Is it just not listed or is there a different programmer needed?

    Lynoise, NICE PICS!

From the looks of it, GP Store is removing the chips too!! Very interesting.

The chip IS supported. I have an emp-20 and use an adapter that needhams sells that costed around $105.

EMP-20 is a discontinued model. You can still buy them through Ebay though.

The new model is the EMP-21 but its very pricey... Perhaps Needhams has a cheaper less versatile model. Perhaps an EMP-10 might work. That I am not sure of.

Also, I'm going to move this to the OBD2 Flash Hacking section.. This forum here is more for dealing with the communication protocols and communication through the OBD-2 port.

I also have found a BIN file which is saposidly a stock L67 PCM you can get it here.

I am not sure what year it came out of.. or if it is a real image or not. I dont have any software to do anything with it (disassemble ). I tried TunerCat but it says it cant support it now... it needs a $10 definition file?
Anyway.. I posted it in case others want to play with it.

Without even looking at that file, I'm thinking its an OBD-I file.

I do have a couple L67 files I hope to post today.
