LS1 Swap : Won't start. Vat, bcm relink, etc ...

A friend of mine, who is living in 500 miles from me, has a project for his C3 : a LS1.

He has bought a LS1 and a separate PCM (with another VIN).
The car start ... then stall.
    I want to help him.

I know I have to change the VIN and disable VAT.
I've told him to send me his PCM.

If I plug his 2k PCM in my 99 C5, change the VIN (correct engine vin) and disable VAT : will the car start ? (without relink the bcm, without plug my hptuner box to the car)

Is it ok for you ? do you have advices ?
I dont wan't to send/resend/re-re-send the pcm via mail.
    Thanx

Not sure, but I think you might need a TechII to link to the BCM

I thought we can relink bcm with hptuners. Problem is, I don't have the car next to me.

Unless Vettes are different from Fs, you don't need to change the VIN to disable VATS.

disable VATs, no need to relink to BCM.

you only pay the credits to gain access to the ecu. from there you do not pay any more credits to disable the vats. same goes for OS upgrades if you choose to do that later down the road, only the initial credits to gain access to the ecu.

when you purchased the MPVI2 unit you should have been asked how many credits you wanted to purchase. if this was not the case then you need to create a user on HPTuners.com and register your MPVI2 when it arrives (if this isnt already done). from here you can purchase more universal credits. you need 2 credits to unlock a GM GenIII ecu, each credit costs roughly $50 USD so it will cost you $100 USD in credits to access the ecu, free os upgrades (if required), and free VATS disable.
credits for users with the MPVI2 are linked to the HPTuners.com account, not the interface(the way the old MPVI 1 modules work).

if you go to this web address and research your vehicle on the supported vehicles list, it should tell you the credits to gain access. from here multiply the credits by $50 USD and you get your credit cost for access.
