2009 G8GT, How to lock the trans in 3rd gear from VCM

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Automatic Trans.
I'll be doing MAF tuning really soon, and it's pretty easy to do with a Manual trans, but i wonder how should i do this with the new A6 Trans at WOT.

What's the typical speed or RPM to start at WOT run for tuning purposes?, and using VCM controls, should i lock the TCC solenoid first or TCC PWM, then the 3rd gear ? , or 3rd gear first, then either one of the 2 other options ?

    Car is a 2009 G8GT with a Vararam CAI.

    Thanks is Advance.

Slide The Shifter Over Into Sport Mode And Bump It Up Or Down And You Can Manually Hold The Gear You Want.

I haven't try this just yet, but lets say i put her in 3rd gear via the shifter, slow down to about 40mph, and punch it, wouldn't she want to downshift into 2nd or 1st ?

    nope....

this is how i did my base for my wideband, get on the highway and roll about 45 or so and nail it and let it pull all the way to 105...
