Is 15.5-16.0 too lean or what? I know the gas mileage is/will be better, but at what point does it compromise the engine?

I have heard of folks on long cruises doing this...imo though I think shoot for stoich =14.63xxxxx as from the factory for safety. Why risk melting a piston due to a bad batch of gasoline?

15.1 for me
Going leaner than stoich will require more spark to be efficient, otherwise MPG might actually drop.
I just made another road trip of about 125 miles and I run about 15.6 to 15.9 AFR with no issues. MPG did improve about 2mpg

Look at a Holden stock tune.
There you will find safe AFR and the timing increase to match the AFR.
Done so in my hoe for 50 000 km, no issues.
Mileage is improved by 10%.

Thanks, I'll try for stoich.
