    SD Tune Time

Well, I had a Nitrous backfire out the intake at the track last night. Toasted the MAF, MAF screen, and air filter. I unplugged the MAF, loaded the SD tune I have been working on, started right up, and drove home.

This kind of forced my hand. I was waiting on 1.6 and the new tuning features to dial in the SD tune but now I guess I will just do it the old way.

Boy, I would really like to have 1.6 sooner rather then later. :

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    Re: SD Tune Time

The SD tuning is coming along fine except for one area. Idle. It surges and hunts for the idle vey badly. It will die occationally but usually finds the idle after about 10 seconds. The V6 has very little idle control so I am not quite sure how to correct for this. I raised the idle by 150 and this helps the dieing but the surge and hunting are still there. Any ideas?

Add timing (I run 28 at idle), get your trims in line, disable proportional idle.

    Re: SD Tune Time

are you running 28 degress in the spark table?

or are you seeing 28 when you are scanning..

its a big difference becuase at idle our spark tables get aufully adjusted and skewed by other tables..

I will try the timing adjustment. The trims should come in line with the SD tune. Where is the control for "Proportional Idle"?

Proprtional Idle should be under the Open/Closed loop fueling. I run 28 degrees at idle in the Base Spark tables (in and out of gear).

    Re: SD Tune Time

"Proprtional Idle" is not a V6 option. Either is In and Out of gear spark control. These are the kind of controls that us V6ers need. We feel like the bastard step child.

That's pretty weak. I wonder if it is coming, or if it cannot be changed...

    Re: SD Tune Time

The MAF is back in. Without some idle control, the car will not run properly. Attempt #3 at a SD tune has been aborted.

I wil make a feature request and see what happens.
