Just curious what would happen if the stock MAF were to find its way into the 3in pipe right before the turbo? I know I would get a lower signal for the same amount of air, so I could avoid buying an LS6 MAF.
The reading should change in a linear manner, so I should be able to just calculate the difference in the pipe areas, then multiply the stock MAF table by that number right?
I have two reasons for doing this. Since I set PE to Boost threshold at each RPM the tunning has gone pretty well. My blind tune had an A/F ratio of 10:1 and richer (stock O2's are worthless). Now the A/F ratio jumps around a lot, due to the design of the pipe right before the TB/MAF. I'm already working on a new mandrel bent pipe, but looking at every factory turbo kit I can find, they all put the MAF before the turbo. Plus if I eliminate the MAF from the TB, I could smooth out the TB and get more flow there. I think with the increase in flow, and the more accurate tunning I could get some signifigant gains.
As always opinions appreciated.
