    What is Flare?

    Looking for a couple of links to good explanations of Flare.

    but its when the tranny slips just before shifting.

    So, if I try to slip my clutch too much on a hard launch am I getting flare? lol J/k

    Once the shift event starts, your RPM should be pulled down. A
    little lag aside, during which it might continue to rise at the rate
    sen before the shift command (see Trans Current Gear for the
    signal-of-intent). But if it jumps abruptly before beginning to
    haul down, that is "flare".
