    05 GTO t56 to 4l80e

i am in the process of swapping out my t56 for a 4l80e. and before i make the choice to go full manual VB with it i would like to know if this would work. i am willing to get a t42 tcm and wire it up just like factory (i work at a gm dealer so i got access to all pin outs and special terminal tools and such) and tie in to the data wires. the only problem i am seeing is if i can get a segment swap or something to put in the tcm that can run the 80e. i know the 05-06 gto s ran the t42 ( i think) and that like 07 or 08 up trucks suv and full size vans ran the t42 if they had a 80e trans. any help is greatly greatly appreciated

    thanks jake

There are no segments to be swapped in the T42, its either there or it isn't in regards to a 4L80 or 4L60 operating system.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Not really other than ask around to see what others have done to get it to work.

thanks i appreciate your input. i am not aware of anybody that has made it work lol. guess that where trial and error come in. if i get a tcm that works on this do you think it will still be adjustable through hp tuners?

It might be possible if the os you use is of the same year as your gto
