You can't accidentally hit it. When you hit it it pops up two boxes and you have to save the file.

You also have to do a write entire to get it to work. I would just rewrite your last file to it (write entire).

What year car is this? Do you only have a single license? Did you use any credits writing the 1 bar OS? Not sure what happens when you write a wrong ID. You don't have a backup stock file saved anywhere?

You CAN NOT write a '98 in a '99 computer. Please, before you mess something up do not just try things.

You will have to get another '99 stock file if you do not have your own and go from there. If you do not have unlimited '99, it will cost 2 more credits.

i think i screwed up major. it wont read my vcm at all now. i tried to switch my vin to the 1998 file and it says its unlisensed. is there any way to get my pcm back to stock vin? i tried a stock 1999 file from the hptuners website and it wont let me upload due to the vin. everytime i try to read my pcm the original vin comes up, but is then replaced with the 1998 vin, followed by an error. any ideas on how to fix it?

YOU CAN NOT WRITE A '98 FILE TO THAT COMPUTER!!!!

As I already stated. I don't know how else I can get this across. You must get a '99 file and do a write entire over what you have in there. It might end up costing 2 more credits though. Please, stop blinding writing things. I have already told you these things yet you continue to not listen to my advise. If you do not want to listen, why did you post up? You could (if you have not already) kill the computer if you continue blindly.

I did listen, but it was already too late. I went ahead and talked to Texas Speed about the issue. They recommened I take the PCM to a dealership and have it flashed, which is what I did, and then I am sending off the PCM for a TSP mail order tune. I learned the hard way, leave it to the professionals.

I recommend against a mail order tune. You will do a lot better learning on this board and doing it your self.

If the computer is not fried, you can rewrite yourself and prob save money.
