I have a chance to get a 6L80e and need to know if it will fit behind a Gen IV 454 big block Chevy bored and stroked to 489 with aprox 560 ft lbs and 530 hp? What will I need to fit it? Flex plate, torque converter, internal beefing, rebuild ect.? I am planning to put it in My 67 Impala.
Search for info on here posted by "thesubfloor". He runs an LS7 Vette that runs hi 9's lo 10's NA with a [now] built 6L80E. Well over 100 runs on the same build.
Very impressive performance from the trans Chris. Sorry to hear about the motor exiting stage left. How many runs on the motor? What let go?
There you go trendsetters: 280+ runs on a 6L80E. With ~700Hp at the flywheel turning hi 9's lo 10's. And super consistent bracket times to boot.
Just like PG's, TH400's, 4L60's blah blah didnt hold any power until they were toughened up by the aftermarket and dedicated racers searching for results.

I just got a new one from these guys https://reman-transmission.com/trans...des/?code=6L80 and she works like a charm. Just had to take it to the shop and have it installed and now im sittin pretty
