    2010 silverdao 6.2 Basics

    Hi Folks.
I am a novice trying to do some very basic stuff to 2010 6.2.
Things I can change without doing logs.
The truck has arh long tubes and cats, waiting on vararam and cat back before doing any log based tuning.
I have the correct beta 2.23 to work with.
I have an older Tuning School Book but many of the trees are different in my pcm.
I would like to disable or reduce torque management but there are menus in tranny section as well as engine section.
What is the correct tree to turn this off or change %
Any other basic things you would recommend.

    thanx

The 1st thing I would do is check your AFR....the headers probably have you skewed...don't want to be running lean under wide open throttle...Good news is the stock tune is pig rich so you might be ok.

One quick easy thing would be change upshift rpm...These 6.2's make peak Hp at 5,750rpm but the 2-3 shift is set at 5,400rpm from the factory... I like 6,000rpm for the 1-2, 5,900 for the 2-3,and the 3-4 @ 5,800... Top of 3rd should be around 105mph depending on your tire height...

My 09 6.2 Max towing silverado is showing about 10 deg. KR under very mild throttle.frames 2306 and frame 2760. anyone else see this on theirs? BTW I raced mine a few weeks ago and it made 7 passes from 14.74 to 14.79 @ 92mph. so far I have made no tune changes because I havent applied credits for it. Has anyone else run theirs stock?

I had e85 for a few weeks and then i put some 87 in it yesterday morning. If you look at my log it has kr without me even applying more tps on some spots(steady cruising). And the load on the engine when it kr is almost nothing. Its not like its kr when I do a quick throttle open. I want to tell you something about when i did a read entire. can you call me at 317 508 8905 thanks, Norm

The new 6.2's need 91 octane or higher with the stock tunes... Dial back the spark if you want to run 87...

If this is a near stock truck I would run fresh 93 and the stock tune for grins...

FYI, most (near stock) 6.2L 2wd trucks are trapping close to 100Mph...

It is completely bone stock... I thought the mph was pretty low. It is a 4wd crew cab. My 07 6.0L ran 15.20s@ a lil over 90 mph so I was wondering why mph was only 92. When I ran it i had e85 in it.(probably fully e85 because i was almost empty when i put it in). I know that it is about 105 octane. I will try some 93 and then log again. Im really surprised at how easily it has KR even though it has 87 in it. I pulled my boat yesterday morning so it must have rattled it ass off pulling in 6th gear.
