    Confused noob

    Hi all,

I have a 99 GTP, and bought a stage 2 bin file from INTENSE. I tried to lower the idle back to stock, but had no luck.(not sure what stock is but tried to lower it a little). It seems like I do everything right but when I start the car afterwards, the idle is the same as it was before. If I were to read the VCM again after that, it WOULD bring up up the values I put in. So why wouldnt it be idling at the values I flashed into the PCM?

Sorry if thats a dumb question but Im trying to learn.

    TIA
    Scott

The bottom table is a stock 2000 GTP idle table. The top one is what i'm using for a Stage 3 cam and heads. Hope that helps some.

Heh, after looking at it now I just realized why I get a bit of surging when it first warms up at a certain temp. Looks like I messed it up a bit :P
    Time for some more tweaking

Thanks for the tables that will help, but do you have any clue why it wouldnt be idling at the values I filled in?

And when Im tuning that,(or trying to) I dont have to fill out separate values for A/C on and A/C off. I just have P/N and In Gear. Why is that? :huh2:

    Thanks alot,

Mine doesn't idle exactly at the RPM's in the table either. Just have to tweak it up or down a bit and see where it comes out.

Maybe the PCM OS ID's are different, thats why you dont have the same parameters. ???

How far off are they. Because between like 68* and 122* they are set from ~850 down to ~ 810 or so and it idles over 1000 RPMs.

Well, thanks so much for the help. Ill just have to keep trying.

is that 1000rpm on the scanner or on your tach? Also, what are your IAC readings in the scanner. If the IAC motor is fully closed then it won't be able to bring the idle down.

I had a typo in the table, its actually AIR Pump on/off not AC. This has been fixed in 1.5

Its on the tach, and the scanner jumps around a bit, but its close to what the tach reads. Im not sure what the IACs are. Ill try again and checkit out.

    Thanks
