Is there anyway we can add keyboard shotcuts to the scanner to do certain tasks like connect/disconnect, start/stop scanning, save functions, ect. It would help out alot while driving the vehicle because using the finger mouse on a laptop sucks while trying to watch the road at the same time.

A-freakin'-men to that... I think they are considering
having the spacebar be start/stop, but having the Fkeys
do stuff would be good too. I was all over the road
last night, trying to work the cursor at 80MPH on the
Interstate. Got to have your priorities right....
No compound-keys though! If I was going to be a
touch typist I would've been by now... one finger is
all I can spare while driving
It would be nice to be able to have a "save to" file
cued up ahead of time too, for a "one click stop & save".
And if the filename auto-incremented, that would be
even sweller.
Yes..it definately needs a start/stop key (spacebar)

Great, that'll help alot. Basically any function we can do in the scanner would be great to have a one-key shortcut for.

Any chance we can configure this NOT to start and stop with the space bar? I use adobe premere for video editing and other programs like blackbox viewers that look similar to this. Space starts and stops those playbacks. Here it closes that file and starts a new session.
