    avira reporting TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2 in editor and scanner

    Probably a false positive. I can't fire them up to check the version but the date on both exe's is 7/7/2008. Avira version is 9.0.

    Same problem here, Avira version 10, exe's date is 08/18/2008. New installed from VCMSuite-2_22.msi.

    It's a false positive in their latest definition set. It actually took the liberty of wiping out HPTuner's on my desktop. It gives you a reason to move to Avast Free in it's stead. Avast can actually remove viruses too, unlike Avira which never seems to be able to fully remove that "one virus that you have"...

    Me too!!!

    TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2 was found, so Avira say.

    Any solution for this?

    I want to keep my Avira, don want to go to the trouble
    of getting a new anti vir.

    I assume that you can add an exception list or just set it to not scan the HPT directory. Otherwise turn the virus scanner off or get something else like AVG Free.

    Yea I formatted my entire machine for this dumb shit.. Re installed tuners and bam again!! Argh!!!!
