When are we going to get a Handheld????

As a tuner who is currently researching Ford/Dodge options I'm still having a hard time buying into handhelds.

Aside from a few cases where a cars power levels and load vary greatly from day to day I don't understand the need for a customer to have 16 tunes available to them. I've always thought tune it for how the car will be driven and do it right. Customer is always right but my stomach turns everytime somebody says well I need an economy tune for my heads/cam car too.

I like options but so far this seems to be limited in the number of options. At least HPT isn't forcing us to go with the handheld model like the other guys.

For those customers running nitrous its nice to have a nitrous tune just a flash away or for those that plan to put their cars back to stock before selling its nice to have the stock tune to be able to flash back in as well.

Sorry to hear it's not going to be as Frost (and I) hoped... With the newer TCM's going into the tranny's, this would be a very benificial tool! Between the TCM in the trans, VATS, crank re-learn, etc.. It's getting very hard to tune a rig through the mail.

i have the complete vcm suite, but i would still find it very handy to have a handheld to keep in my car for the very purpose of switching on and off a nitrous tune. would allow you to be more aggressive with the spray off.

One reason I wanted EFILive. It is awesome to have the handheld for standalone datalogging.

They should read carefully all the comments on EFILive's tools and make sure they cover all the bases.
