2011, we've dedicated our new software engineer, Saif, to this project for the new year.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Its not meant for the individual user, there will likely be a buy in quantity for these. Its something a tunershop would sell to their customers if the customer wanted to leave their shop with multiple tunes.

The only reason I think I would look to one of these is if I owned a diesel. To me, a tuned car is a tuned car, but a diesel is a very different animal when you take one to the track... I can see one being very, very useful to your diesel customers!
Although, now I thnk of it, guys with a cut-out exhaust system on any engine would be able to have some fun with one of these too, and an electronic exhaust cut-out is something I do have in my possession...

    Can we log with it?

Can you upload remote tunes to it?

Basically will it work for mail order tune customers that dont want to buy the VCM suite?

if you want it to be really successful you should make it an ipod/iphone/ipad app. There are a couple companies that manufacture the OBDII to apple interface cable.

That would be nice for apple fans, but not so great for the tons of people that hate apple.

This would def be the trick for those customers wanting a nitrous tune with and without racegas or for different size shots. I'll be very interested in picking these up if the price is right to pass on to the customer.

Sigh, I bought full Diablosport CMR at Sema because I needed to fill a void. My customers have been asking for a handheld for awhile, and I need to keep my custoemrs happy.

The 3 biggest things that caught alot of people off guard

    1. having to spend $1500 just to get into it
    2. no external in put for wide band
    3. no option to add more license for one

I understand the concept of selling them with limted license, it forces me to keep buying them but it would be nice to be able to buy one even at different price where you could keep buying and adding license to it or even the possibilty of buying unlimited license. Alot of times the extra $300 for an autocal isnt worth it to one of my customers but if I had an option to just charge $100 more for the vin license and a deposit where I could mail them one and get it back and re-use it it would make the sale. Alot like some shops do with the ls2 edit cables (atleast I think thats what they are). I know I wasnt the only who thought auto cal was going to be more like I posted vs like it is.
