    aem wideband

    just to get something clear, i hook up the white wire (5volt output from wideband) to the #1 pin on my mpvi pro ? i do not need to hook up the ground to it or anything ?

    also what numbers do you use to set up the aem wideband, i have seen that the lc widebands are somethink like this

    0 volts 10.0 afr
    5volts 20.0 afr

    so what are the numbers for the aem wideband ?

    Start by searching the help that came with the product and/or searching the forums

    help file->Working with VCM Scanner->Enhanced IO

    The Connecting and Configuration pages should get ya covered. There is an example for connecting a LC1 wideband in the EIO How To Section as well.

    You will hook up a ground wire from your wideband to pin 5.
    There is a pre-defined input for the AEM, so you dont need to manually calculate the transfer function, but it is:

    AFR=Vin*(Vmax-Vmin)/(AFRmax-AFRmin) + AFRmin
    AFR=Vin*(5-0)/(20-10) + 10
    AFR=Vin*.5+10

    From the dead.....

    Right now I have the following hooked up:
    Red wire to 12v
    White wire to EIO Pin 1
    Black wire to ground

    EIO Pin 5 to ground (different than the AEM ground possibly?)

    Is that wrong?

    On my AEM there are two wires for datalogging, a white (+) and a brown (-). White goes to EIO Pin 1 and brown goes to EIO Pin 5. Even though I've been told you only need one wire I figure if they give you two might as well use em and still use both wires now logging through the EGR pins (white to #55 and brown to #41). Also the numbers I had to use in the scanner was volts/.422 + 7.312

    Hope that helps

    I have 4 wires:
    White- 0-5v output (going to EIO Pin #1)
    Black- Chassis Ground (going to a good chassis ground)
    Red- 12v power (going to a switched 12v source)
    Blue- Serial Output (capped off)

    Then on top of this, I have my EIO Pin #5 going to the same ground as the AEM UEGO black chassis ground
