New to 2.0 user question thread

Not sure if it will help condense it, but maybe a few "new to 2.0 user" questions can be answered in one thread. (I am sure you will be getting some)

I know we can only save in .hpt form now. Are there any issues with going back and fourth with old tunes we already made? Should we open, then resave them immediately, or will 2.0 still allow us to write *.bins

you will only be able to save in .hpt now
there are no problems with opening an old .bin, making changes in 2.0 and saving it...it will just save in teh new .hpt format...and then you use th eflash section integrated into the VCM Editor(much better than the old flash)

Re: New to 2.0 user question thread

I can't figure out how to setup my LC1 W/B in the #6 ( or any other ) histogram table. It worked fine in 1.7, but I can't seem to make it work in 2.0 ? I've selected the LC1 PID in the "Plot value" and the "x header" and "y header" section but no go. I just get the following message

This Histogram is not supported with the current loaded parameters.

If this Histogram references Tables, it is possible that the vehicle
you are connected to does not support these Tables. It is also possible
that the sensor required for the Table is not found in the loaded
    parameters.

If this Histogram references Sensors, it is possible that the sensor
required is not found in the loaded parameters.

If this Histogram references PIDs, it is possible that the PID required
is not found in the loaded parameters.

You will find all of your loaded parameters located on your Table Display.
To add more parameters, right click the table display and click insert.

For example, if you have a histogram built that maps Timing Advance
and you do not have Timing Advance inserted on your Table Display,
    the Histogram will not function.

Re: New to 2.0 user question thread

try one of my histogram config files....

    www.audiohelix.com/file

under the histograms section...just try the VE Wideband AFR table and see if it helps..
sounds to me like you have a simple configuration setup issue

    should look something like this

dont mind my plot filtering...I tune in open loop and I use that PID filter to exclude any IDLE data
the "X" and "Y" tables are for you to put in teh values that you need...like in the Primary ve table you need to plot X as RPM and Y as MAP(kpa)
or as I ave shown in the example above...just select a tabel and its done for you

version 2 here below is teh same thing only plotted as PID's instead of a table
it is almost always smarter to use an existing table because it automatically puts the right values in the X/Y fields

Am I missing something (probably) or did we loose "lean cruise" with 2.0

If so, what happens if Lean cruise was enabled under 1.6, but we start tuning with 2.0?

its not enabled in US vehicles because it has a compare to and jump to if not equal command going on there..LOL
I'm not saying anything else....just letting you know that It may have a table...but that doesnt mean that its going to work

Re: New to 2.0 user question thread

On an HP laptop running win98 I am getting an object file error when I open v2.0. I do have .net 1.1 installed already. Are there any other issues that I should look for? HPT v2.0 works sometimes and other times it locks up the computer. I'm assuming it is related to the error I get on startup.

I should have been more specific. It is win98SE. I would use one of my newer computers, but they lack a serial port.
