    Lightbulb logging EIO inputs only???

Is this supported and I just haven't found a way to make it work yet? It seems like unless I'm connected to the diagnostic port I cannot log the EIO in hptuners.... It would be awesome on vehicles that do not have an ECM ...

Reviving this post because I am looking for the same thing. I have an old Torino that I'd love to log the O2, rpm, temps etc off. Any way to do this? I guess I could go buy an old VCM and McGyver it but I'd rather not.

No, the mpvi interface must have power to log anything.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

damn... well it does "power up" (leds come on) when the only thing that it's plugged into is the usb port of the laptop....

Bill, It seems too simple to work lol, but could you feed voltage to the correct pins and make it work or is it too sensitive and\or complicated to be able to power the system without a PCM/VCM?

AWOL, in your case, the issue is EIO data is piggy backed on to OBD packets. Because there is no OBD data, the EIO voltages do not get stored.

We never thought the interface might be used to log EIO only, so implementation isn't there.

Logging EIO only though is something I can do in the software and is on my list.
