    ECU swap 96-98 questions

    I did some searching but couldn't find anything close to what I need to do.

    Background: 89 Jeep YJ with 96 Chevy 4.3 Vortec 5 speed from a Blazer. I want to be able to tune it but 96 4.3 isn't supported. I have available an ECU and harness from a 98 Blazer 4.3 A/T. I am using all mechanical gauges/speedo.

    Question, can I just swap the engine harness and ECU and go? Can Ijust swap the ECU?

    If you are going to bother with the swap, why not go ahead and do the 0411 PCM swap?

    I guess the main thing is that I have all of the componets I need for the 98 swap, where for the 0411 I would have to buy everything that I would need, so cost. Along with I'm not sure that I really need more tuning than I could do with the 98, I would just use the 96 but it isn't supported.
