It's a good thought, unfortunately it doesn't work like that...At least not on my friend's GTO. Also I recall that enabling it on an auto is BAD, although I don't know why. Since you're not auto it's worth a shot but I bet you a beer it doesn't work.

ill drive to houston for that beer Bill...but i have zinged the revs to high in the past and it has come on, i thought about settign it about 200 less than the shift point to try it

It seems to come on at 7500 no matter what you set that to. =)
Yeah... doesn't really work.
We have it set at 7k on my car... and 6.5k on my friend's car. Never really comes on... we've both seen it maybe once or twice, but that's only if you bang the rev limiter (we're both at 7400).

The only time I've seen that light come on is when I powershifted my car from 2nd to 3rd on the highway (without the WOT box).
It doesn't listen to what you tell it to do. If it were my kid, I would beat it with a wooden spoon.
