OBDII - GMLAN/Serial Data
I am in the process of wiring a 6.2L L94 engine for our engine dyno. Ultimately, it will be controlled with an aftermarket engine controller but initially I would like to try to get the stock ECM to run the engine on the engine dyno. I noticed that the OBDII connector in the vehicle (2010 GMC Denali) has power, ground, GMLAN+, GMLAN-, and one serial data wire. On the engine harness, I only have power, ground, GMLAN+ and GMLAN-. Will VCM Suite be able to write to the flash, delete all error codes, etc to make this happen?
Thanks for the help.

yes all you need is the GMLAN for communications.

Thanks Chris. Is there a way to collect the GMLAN data with our National Instruments data acquisition system's CAN input? I understand this probably means having the GMLAN protocol...kind of off topic...any ideas?

I am trying to do the same thing to a 2008 5.3L vortec motor. Did you ever get this project going? What would I need to do so the computer isn't looking for vehicle speed, fuel tank pressure, etc?
