Electric power steering serial data?

I am trying to use a electric power steering setup from a saturn vue. I am told that it is class 2 serial data com. just wondering if there is a genius on here that can help me figure how to make this work with out all the rest of the ecm ect. I want to use this in a sand car that does not have any other ecu.
