    Temporary Wideband settings

I tried searching but I didn't quite get all the answers I wanted. I want to hook up a wideband into the stock front o2 sensor position and log the voltage through the unused EGR wire. I understand that I need to go into open loop so that the o2's aren't functioning.

    Questions:
What exactly do I do with the o2 sensor? Do I disconnect it completely or just move it out of the way and secure it?

Will just putting the tune into open loop be enough to keep my truck happy? Are there any codes to clear or anything else to do?
