    Misfire Event Requirements

This morning my car started noticably missing. When I got to work I pulled out the laptop and logged current and history misfires on each cylinder but there were zero events. My engine diags/misfire tables are stock so I can't figure why I would not be logging any misfires.

    In reading this: http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...hlight=misfire

It looks like misfire detection may be disabled in SD.

Some vehicles require a crank relearn after crank, crank sensor, balancer, ecm swap etc., before it will run the misfire moniter.

If you just want to find the dead hole, pull injector connectors one at a time while it is running, the one that changes the idle the least is most likely your problem hole.

I have used the Cyl balance test in the scanner with C5's, dont know if I have gotten it to work with a C6 or not. Maybe another option that will keep your hands clean.

Maybe a heat gun shooting the exhaust tubes will do it.

    nlnnln

Was too lazy to look at it over the holiday weekend and the time I did want to work on it got trumped by playing spider man on my roof hanging xmas lights. Getting the bug to drive it so I'll find out this week some time.

I set all DTCs to no error reported save the P0103 (MAF) and I got two misfire events, one for #4 and one for #3, after running the car for about a minute in the garage.

I tried the IR thermometer but my Harbor Freight jobby was not giving repeatable results.

I had thought of switching to a MAF tune but something about the orientation of the card dtyle MAF in this charge tube hates a MAF tune. I have to jack the MAF table way up just to get it to run and it runs poorly.

So I changed all the plugs (I wanted to since I had changed from NGK to Autolite to see if it resolved my charging issue) and when I did the #3 plug wire came apart and the #4 plug wire was not clicking onto the plug.

    So....wires.

BUT... can you log misfires with the custom OS1 SD tune?
