Completely Stock I6 Turbo Best low down boost

    Howdy all,

I thought this might be a good thread to start what's the best low down boost anyone can get on a completely stock inline 6?

I have had mine get to around 10Psi at 2500 rpm, but I have since changed cam timing & ignition timing a bit & now not getting there till around 2800 rpm!

I need to chuck it back on the dyno & see which is actually better for torque & power!

    Cheers Grant LS1

    Nice work dale,
Mine is a BA so yeah a little different, do you roughly remember what it was on a BA/BF?

yeh but its all over at 4000rpm and boost is back to 13psi by 6000rpm...

a simple turbo upgrade netted over 70rwkw gain at 6000rpm with a peak of 16psi... so 5psi less boost...

Far out, so I'm assuming you have injectors, springs & the intercooler?

Anything else ie: Zaust, CAI etc...

It's got springs, stock dump with a 100cpi cat and dual 2.5in, fuel pump and injectors,

Going to put some fg cams in it next week. Got the tune pretty consertive and it makes 320 all day long... With the fg cams it should got 330 or so on 16psi

    Nice!

So you can use the fg cams in the ealrier girls, do you just use the FG gears & then run the fg cam timing too(with mods).

Mines make 7psi @ 3500 rpm............Not that impressive. Cept the car aint moving when it does it. A little cam and Ign retard and a few tweaks too the rev limiter makes for a nice launch system

Do you prefer the BA power over FG Dale?

Well it will depend what gear you're in to start with. 4th gear will boost earlier than 2nd. In any case closed loop control will get you there earlier in all gears.
