I am starting to dive into the A6s and try to get a handle on these trannies. I thought that there have been some updates from the factory on the later transmissions where they actually dumb down the tranny a little, is this true? What kind of software changes have the factory made over the last few years? Can I get HP tuners to over right a later trans tune on an earlier car?
There really is no dumbing down for A6 trannies from what I can tell, if someone has been able to dumb these down I'd sure like to know his/her secret.
Yes GM has made changes to the code over the years but the TCM's are not simple by any means no matter how you cut it, if you consider cutting out 20 or so constants dumbing down the code from say 620 tables to 600 then by all means they dumbed it down in the last couple of years.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
