Thread: Cam Surge?

    Cam Surge?

In the process of tuning a L92 head and small cammed LS2 GTO.

Everything is working out as expected with the exception of one thing..
When idieling down, shifting into 2nd or 1st while decel, the car bucks just a tiny bit. I hate to say the all to often said "its a cammed car" the "pro" tuners say, so what could I be missing?

I am thinking more spark is needed in the Base Idle Spark Adv. table, it was at ~18* and now is around 20*. Have not uploaded with it at 20*, so I don't know if that has helped yet.

    Thanks !

Your Open Loop EQ Ratio is so terrible

    - Change all 4 Open Loop tables back to stock

    - Don't increase the base running airflow in gears too much

    - Remove more timing in part throttle both Hi and LOW octane do smooth it

    - Your Count down timing is too much, this make a surge when decelerating

    - Put your LTFT min ECT back to stock

    - Get your MAF and VE tuned correct

    Good luck

You are half way in sd and halfway have the maf failed. Fueling errors will cause most all surge. If your trying to tune the ve then put it in olsd if not then you need to correct the maf settings and adjust the maf.

Not my tune, this was pulled from his car after having it done at a well known shop. I just wanted to clarify some things before hand. This is the second car that has come back from there with similar "issues". Thanks a bunch! Regardless, he had a spring failure and catastrophic motor damage. He has order a 416 LS3 and we'll be starting from scratch.
