    06 Procharged GTO

Alright guys I need someone to let me know if they think I am maxing out my MAF I think I'm at the limit but I could be wrong. I've been thinking about going SD so now might be the time to do it lol. Here's a log 9:24 has a good 4th gear pull.

    Thanks!

Post a screen shot with the cursor on the spot where you think the MAF is pegging out. I don't have HP Tuners on this work laptop and won't be back to my tuning laptop until Saturday night.

Yea, it is about maxed out. Looks like your injectors are done too... You sure that thing isn't leaning out? Looks like your injectors peg out the instant you're in boost above 3500rpm.

I'm at work now can't see the log. I have a returnless fuel system so I think that's why my injectors are working overtime.@

Yea I just looked at the log aging and IDC is only at 69%, but it doesn't start going lean until it gets to the limit of the maf 12678hz is when it goes wacky.

Next plans are for a SD tune, then a fuel system that wont make me worry every time I go into boost lol

Couple things I see from the log.

1: It's not out of injector.
2: It never really goes lean. It's actually overly rich for most of the 4th gear pull. I would lean it out to the A/F it's at when you think it's "going lean". About 11.8:1
3: The MAF doesn't max until 6 grand. Unless you plan to run much past that, you could leave it alone.

I'm all for 2 bar SD tunes, and most of the FI cars I tune are done in 2 bar SD. But unless you're planning on more boost, more power, etc, you could just leave it alone.

You think 11.8 is safe on a stock motor? Not second guessing you or anything I just have it commanding 11.3 or 11.4 right now and that was a log where I was dialing in the maf.

And I do plan to change the pulley but not before a fuel system, the itch just never stops lol. Thank you for your knowledge!

Your A/F is in the high 10s for a bit. Low 11s isn't too bad. I run them all the time in the high 11s on stock bottom ends. Keep your timing conservative, and always, ALWAYS read your plugs. High 11s is not too lean on a stock bottom end. Too rich can be just as bad as too lean.

If you dynoed enough of them, you'd see a trend in how 'happy' these motors are at a certain A/F, and how unhappy they get when you start running them overly rich. As in real low 11s, and high 10s. You can actually see it in the shape of the graph.

If you plan on a pulley change, then yes, I'd go ahead and do a 2 bar SD tune.

Cool good info to know! You think 18 to 19 degrees of timing is safe? I've never seen any kr and the plugs look good. I do plan on changing them soon and doing a good run and read.

I may just have to pay up to rent a local dyno here... I said I would never give that shop any of my money again. I might just have to swallow my pride since it's not that far of a ride.

Depending on several variables, 18-19 degrees can be the happy spot, or a little too much. Gas quality needs to be good. Tuning and fuel system need to be very consistant.

There's more to reading plugs than "they look good". Get a good sight glass, and make sure there are no signs of detonation. That's the biggie. Then learn where the heat mark is on the strap, and how it moves with different adjustments to the tune. You can also double check your mixture by reading the plugs, but when you have a WB, it's more of a double check than anything.

Thanks for the advice guys! If I had minor adjustments to do to the tune you think a hour on the dyno would be enough to sort things out? The local place here wants $150 per hour to rent the dyno. Is that the normal price?

i paid 175 an hour, so 150 is a steal.

    a hour is not enough.

i recommend doing all your parth throttle on the street,
some quick wot just to ball park it.

then hit the dyno and finish your wot.
you can use the curves to get your spark and fuel lined up and see if it helps with power or not!.

Part throttle and WOT are really close, I just don't think I will be making this thing any faster and tuning it on the street any more lol. With this crazy heat we are having I need to add some meth!

    Thanks for the help!
