    Tow/Haul mode for 6L80e

i have a 2008 gmc sierra that is a 6.2/6L80e swap. i have the tow/haul mode through the transmission but i do not have the TU/TD option. i have yet to figure that out past the wiring that is already installed in my truck. basically id have to have the BCM reflashed with a different vin and id have the wrong vin for onstar i think. id settle for my Tow/Haul mode to engage 2nd gear at a low roll vs having TU/TD, then have it shift through the gears like normal at WOT. has anyone done this with the 6L80e yet?

    thanks

You can tune the shift mph in normal and tow/perf mode separately with HPtuners. TUTD sucks, it's not worth screwing around with the wiring.

i do have the wiring already in my truck factory, all i would have to do is have the dealer program the bcm but id lose other fuctions that i want. The is no tow/haul tab in the software that i know of other than performance, so how would i set it to select 2nd gear when i press the tow/haul button?

The performance shift settings should be active when the tow button is pressed. You could change the shift speeds to how you want them that way.

this is the only 2 tabs i have as a "shift pattern" under *Auto Shift Properties, General tab*
so i would have to change the "cruise" one to performance an go from
    there?

I don't know what to do there. I don't recommend changing any of the stuff HPtuners says not to change. You don't know if there are tables you can't see that will affect the changes in a negative way. I guess you can try to get the TUTD working like you originally thought.

If you go to trans 460 and 461 (CTRL + N) you can select different options for shift scheduling. It is like having different transmissions based on a few parameters like tow haul mode, cruise control engaged, performance, etc. Then go to 15315 and 15319 and do your trans tuning individually.
