Help -- E85 car wont start when warm

99 TransAm, turbo, HP Tuners 2 bar SD, 160 lbs/hr high imp injectors, E85

When its cold it fires instantly, idles perfect, ....it warms up.....idles and drives perfect...everything is fine. Except if you shut it off it wont start until it has cooled back down.

IAT when im trying to start it hot are at 113 degrees, that table is zeroed anyways.

When you turn the key it fires once and doesnt stay running. When its half way warm it fires and idles at like 400rpms for a 20 seconds or so then comes up.

I have adjusted the afterstart enrichment table high and low with no results. Added and subtracted from the cranking VE table... no results.

My tune is attached. Am I overlooking something? A table somewhere?

    Thanks.

DTC P0103 needs to be set to to 0 Mil on 1st error. Here are some tables you should try for hot starts.

K, thanks. Finally got around to this.. blew the trans a month ago and got a new one in.

So DTC needs to be enabled and set to 0 mil ? Why when this is MAFless ?

Normally when failing the maf on a stock operating system you have to set the DTC to mil on 1st error. I am not even sure anymore if it's required for 2-3 bar operating system's, it's just a habbit of mine.

Obviously need to do a lot of reading...

You ALWAYS need to fail the MAF with 0-mil on first on a SD deal. You can leave the SES unchecked, but you must fail the MAF.

There's several other things that need some love in the tune. The PE looks terrible, and the VE reflects from your PE. I'm guessing you did this all as a base deal to get the car running?

Let me guess, you broke the sprag or shattered some planetaries or the drum? Trans pressure is out of this world.

Depending how much power this thing makes, you'll likely have to scale the tune. Don't be shocked when it shuts down at WOT and pops, the PCM has only so much dynamic airflow capabilities in "stock" form.

Everything runs fine and performs fine. Only problem is it wont start when its warm.
I have this tune in 4 different turbo vehicles and have ran it since 2006 without a glitch.
    Never failed the MAF.

Only thing I changed was I went to 160# high imp Moran injectors and its been kicking my ass ever since.. There was no "injector data" made for these so its been all guess and check.

I changed the tables as pictured above.. still wont start when warm. It fires perfect cold, I can drive it anywhere.. full throttle pulls like a freight train, no it doesnt pop or shut down at full throttle. It doesnt add fuel to air flow, it adds fuel to MAP. ???? Or im not following you on the dynamic airflow thing in a stock PCM???

It had a TH350, ya..not good. Its got a JW glide in it now good for 3000hp. Shouldnt break it, it is around 1000fwhp.

Some guy sent me this data, from another brand of 160# injectors. The car wouldnt even run with out it. Im not sure if something in here could affect this? Other than changing the injector flow rate and this stuff in this attachment.. the tune is identical to the way it was... other than minor VE table changes and small things.

Try putting .8 in your min injector pulse and defualt pulse table. Also under fuel > transiet > min fuel milligrams set this to .010 or something low to rule that out.

There is some false info in here... you do NOT have to fail the MAF when using a custom HPT SD OS. I've tried both way's and there is no since in having a trouble code in the PCM when it will make the PCM run off the low octane timing table. Set the MAF codes to either "3 No Error Reported" or "2 No MIL" then zero out the MAF table. That isn't the issue with not starting warm anyway's however. It seem's to me that you have incorrect calibration data for the injectors especially if everything was fine with the 60's you had before pending you also had the right data for them. The larger you start getting the more critical the calibration data is for them. I would try to find someone that can either test them for you or contact FIC to get the correct calibration data for them.. if they can't provide the data see if they'll buy them back and pick up some Injector Dynamics injectors!

You also need to go through and get that VE table smooth and work on a few other tables like OL/FA and fully disable LTFT by setting the min ECT to above a sane value.

Had an issue with 2 separate 03+ DBW 2 BAR setups where I had to fail the MAF, support confirmed that I needed to. I always just fail them to be sure anyways... it's not like I need a high/low octane table in the end.

I do have a friend that had some "high impedance" injectors that ended up really being a low impedance injector. Caused it to do all kinds of funky stuff.

I can't speak for the newer stuff but every Fbody or C5 OS that I've dealt with doesnt need to be failed to run SD with a SD OS.

The data I got is FIC from some random person off yellow bullet, the injectors are not.. They are Billet Atomizers.
    http://billetatomizerinjectors.com/
There is NO data available for these.
Also I dont think the injectors will even fire at .8ms, I think the lowest is like 2.5ms. Low imp ones you can get down further... but not these high imp ones.
Ya... its a pain in the a$$. It took a lot to get the car to run right.
Ive cut fuel everywhere and still at cranking im logging 4.0ms which I can see that it is way to much. Seems no matter what I do that cranking ms does not change.

Been working on this forever it seems. I want to thank Ed Hutchings for helping me through this. He went out of his way to help me and stuck with it. Rarely do you ever see that. Cant thank him enough.
