Thread: whats the best way to get up to 7500 for part throttle tuning.

    whats the best way to get up to 7500 for part throttle tuning.

    is it better to have low or high rpms? how much throttle is it ok to give? its pretty scary for me to get up to 7500. any tips or advice would be great.
    2001 3.8 v6 camaro, T5, ford 42lb green top injectors, grand national .63 a/r turbo. 8psi. stock motor, ngk tr6 plugs (one step colder) 91 octane.

    2001 4.3 zr2 s10. daily driver, 31" tires, 4x4, cat! and exhaust. looking for mpg.

    for clarity your talking about getting up to 7500 hertz on the maf not 7500rpm correct ?I think from replies some may think your trying for 7500 rpm....

    its been a while since I have done it but the more different load cells you can hit the better , I used a couple hills with different steepness as well as a steep driveway and some e brake so I could watch my histogram and complete the cells that I didnt hit on regular flat road driving is my recollection.

    No hills unless speed density tuning for air/fuel. You want to be on a flat surface like an interstate and put the car in 2nd or 3rd gear. 4th gear will have you speeding too fast and too much risk for a ticket. 3rd might be pushing it as well depending on your how steep your gearing is in your transmission.
