    1981 Corvette

Can HPTuners read codes on a 1981 Corvette? I'm counting on it not to, but wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction...

    81? No.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

No support for these(they would be obd1 at best) pretty sure you can just connect 2 pins on the obd port to have the dash flash which code is being set just like any other obd1 application.

the code that was flashing was a faulty speedometer cable or sensor

Wow! They had computers way back in 1981???

Did it take up a large area of the car?
I heard computers were really big back then

Actually most pcm's from the 80's weren't all that big, and in many cases smaller than say an LS1 pcm. They usually had a window that you'll pull off so you could access the chip.
