I just downloaded a newer beta just a few days ago and tried to read a dtc off of a 2005 Silverado, but it wouldn't connect to the VCM.

Make sure you contact support for your issue which may be totally different from mine.
    This worked for me.
Rt click the deck top icon, property's, click the compatibility tab, click the WinXP mode.
Then to be sure, click on the compatibility (XP) for all users tab, (on the bottom)

I already have contacted support's email and redirected them here... (sorry Bill, etc)
I took your advice and went to the actual executable files and set it to run in win xp SP3 mode and as admin. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I really think its a problem with my OBD2 port!!!! Autozone's scanner couldnt connect to it either!
But I've checked every fuse and everythings fine.
I dont know what fuse would be the OBD2 port. I've checked the "ECM and PCM" fuses too!

    Its a stock 2006 truck
I realize this is the wrong forum cause this is a hardware issue now.
I thought the cig lighter fuses were to blame (thought they were related).
Maybe there was a grounding out or an overvoltage feedback shock gone from the cig lighter to the OBD2?
BOTH cig lighters work though and BOTH fuses are fine...
    I need a $250 service manual!

    OH DAM!!!!!!

The service manual will give you the most info you need.
But, if you looking to save a few $$ try alldata or mitchells. They can give you a decient electrical diagrams and I know Alldata has a trouble shooting forms that should guide you step by step. It did for me with my sons Malibu no start issue.

Don't forget to check the Ground points!!

Guess I need to check them grounds, etc like you said!
not really intending on having to work on the truck too much. Its probably staying stock.

Dont know what I did to fix the obd2 port but it works?
I can connect and scan finally!
Everything looks good on the scan! no KR, VE LTFTs look really close/good!
Only problem is DTCs not clearing!
I dont have the license to write a tune (thats totally fine!)

    1st realized DTCs, these cleared:
[Brake] U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction (Old) (History) (Immature)
    ?

[PCM] P0128 - Coolant Thermostat (SES) (Old) (History) (Immature)

[PCM] U1041 - Loss of EBCM Communication (History) (Immature)
    Electronic Brake Control Module

These are the only 2 that make sense!

    These DIDNT clear

B codes are all Body control system:

    [Unknown] B2585 - (History) (Immature)
Anti Theft Input Signal Circuit Short To Battery?
    OR
DTC B2585 Parklamp Control Circuit Malfunction?

I dont have anti theft electronics unless its the key cylinder?
    Parking lamps work fine

    [Unknown] B2615 - (History) (Immature)
    compartment dimming circuit?
    all lights work fine!

    [Unknown] B2600 - (History) (Immature)
    Double Locking Door Motor Frozen?
I dont have electrical lock motors!

    EGR System: n/a

I think I have an EGR must not have a sensor?

    A/C System Refrigerant: n/a
I have an A/C must not have a sensor?

All of these are like WTF!?
I dont think theres anything mechanically wrong.
I think the cig fuse screwed my PCM/ECM system or wiring?

I think the SES light is gone, I wonder how long these B codes are going to stick around after cleared?

Just brainstorming anything I can possibly help eliminate, but you don't have an aftermarket car alarm installed on your vehicle do you?

No not at all. not a stock or aftermarket. Its all manual

I think the cig lighter had a short out, which affected the PCM somehow?
I think the SES wont come back but its wierd that in ALL vehicles this happens...
Some DTCs stick around forever in your scanner's past history and just wont clear
not sure what to do about our vehicles

I have a bunch of B codes they just hang around....
Don't think they really bother anything.
    At least mine hasn't.
