    MPVI Pro Help...

Interface won't record. When I press the record button, the yellow busy lights up then the red err light comes on. When I try to stop, the yellow busy comes on but the red err light is still on. Basically, it won't record. It works fine with the laptop plugged in but not on it's own. Am I doing something wrong?:

I assume you've read all the info in the help menus. I know I did several times, as I had a similar problem. When you're saving your config make sure that you don't put any spaces into the file name. Example--"GTO 1" didn't work for me and then I tried "GTO1" and it worked just fine. Hope this helps!

I've tried to read as much as I can each day, so far though I don't see anything that's helped...don't think I did but I'll double check again and give her a whirl. Tks. BTW- How does that affect the box's ability to record? I think the box is defective 'cause it should record and not give me the red "err" light when I hit the record button...

Hoping Bill or Keith will jump in here anytime...

Try programing the box with the config. Then remove the hpt module from power(car and computer). Plug it back in and it should work. I find it has to be power cycled after being programmed.

Nope! won't record. Still giving the red "err" light when record button is pressed along with the yellow busy light. The record light above the button never lights up. I have to just unplug the unit from the vehicle for it to reset back to just the green light. What else can I try?

    Same Issue...

I am getting the very same issue. Recently installed version 2.23 for my 97 C5 Corvette and can only record/scan when the laptop is connected to the MPVI interface scanner. When the laptop isnt connected, the scanner errors out when trying to record by itself everytime. I emailed support a few times.. havent heard back yet. If anyone has any advice, it'd be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    SUCCESS!!!
I downloaded and installed the new 2.23.450 beta version and also installed .net 4.0 to be able to access the new upgrade. Re-configed the logger by clicking the "write config" button in the MPVI data logger menu. Then I connected laptop and all to the vehicle for it to read the VCM info, then unplugged it from the laptop and vehicle. I then plugged in the MPVI data logger by itself and hit the "record button for about a second and walla...it started to record! Hit the "stop" button for about a second also and it stopped recording. I checked everything by plugging it back into the laptop and downloading the logs and everything seems to be there.

Hope this helps, think the new upgrade from 2.23.216 to the 2.23.450 fixed this particular issue for me.

...any platform issues just go to microsoft's site. But Bill's link does the trick. Also, while you're at it try a Windows update to let it find any updated software on your computer before you install and run HPT.

Any idea when we wil be able to use arrow keys to increase/decrease cell values again? As of 452 it still didn't seem back. Don't crucify me for asking publicly.

Something got broken in the beta, he'll look at it when he has a chance if its not fixed once the new editor code rolls out.
