05 GTO M6 to A4 help with tune files

I have a 2005 GTO that was originally a manual car. We converted it to automatic and are almost done installing a complete wire harness from a donor A4 car. We have a tcm42 that I bought from a vendor that has been programmed for the car.

I need to reflash the ecm to an A4. I have access to another locals 06 that is automatic.

How do I do this? My car has a custom tune file. Do I rewite entire with his tune file? Then install my tune files? Or?

Somebody mentioned segment swap. Way over my head. Help, PLEASE!

Post your file. Your best bet is flashing an 05 automatic file into the car so that you can actually enter the correct VIN. If you post your file, I can copy everything to an automatic file and change the VIN, then repost it.

If you want to do it yourself, here is a 2005 A4 GTO file.

Sorry for not creating a new thread but I would also like to know to how to go about converting a A4 to M6.
Currently I have a custom OS. So judging by the searching I did all I have to do is find a M6 file with the same OS and change the vin. Save the file with the new vin, then apply the custom OS to it and edit the table to match the A4 tune file? When i apply the custom OS will i have to use more credits?
And I also perform a write entire, correct?

Here is the latest tune, with the tcm42 installed

Just post your VIN and I will post files for the appropriate year for an A4. You will have to license the new file and do a write entire. Sorry but I'm not going through copying stuff over.

^^^^ I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Yes, I have hptuners, and I can download / log, and have even turned off a few rear cat codes, but that's about my limits.

I'm not sure I understand what your issue is. You posted an automatic file that already has your VIN. Does it not work?

Anyway, here's a stock automatic file with your VIN. You'll have to transfer any calibration info into it that you want.

The A4 file you posted is for a 2002, but the M6 is for a 2001. I added your VIN into the M6 file and it changed it to a 2002.

I have a stock 06 file that has the same os id. That I already have a license for. My vin is: 6G2VX12U46L540893

Tell me if I have this process right, please.

    1. Do a write entire back to my stock OS with my stock file since I have a custom 2 bar SD OS currently.

    2. Then do a write entire with a stock A4 file with matching (OS ID)

    3. Change the vin number to match my car.

    4. Then make all the needed changes in the engine, trans. (go back to a 2 bar OS)

Once that is done I we can just use the tech II to tell the PIM that the car is a auto instead of a manual.

Please tell me if I have this all wrong lol.

You just flash the new auto file. You don't have to flash it to stock, then flash it to automatic, then flash a custom A4 OS.

    You can make this real easy. Take your A4 stock tune file;

1, Apply the 2 bar COS, save it.

    2, Open it back up.

3, Open your manual tune in the compare feature.

4, Copy over all engine calibration differences. This can be done in a few seconds by using the 'compare/view comparison log' feature. Open that up, and right click on the 'engine' folder, click 'copy over differences'. And the whole engine calibration will be copied over in a few seconds.

    5, Change VIN.

    6, Save File.

    7, Do a write entire.

    8, Bam done!

I don't think he can change the VIN without the unlimited model year. That's the only hang up.

    /facepalm

What don't you understand? Take the file I posted for you, convert it to the custom OS, and you're done.
