    annoying TPS issue

I'm working on a 99 Trans Am that has a TPS issue which is making me insane.

I started off looking at where it sat, and it showed 0.0% throttle at 0.63v. I figured that was fine, and started working on the car. I then noticed that the car would almost never come back to idle properly because every time I let off the pedal, the TPS would read different. I checked the TPS and found it loose, so I tightened it up, reset the TPS, and checked it. It read 0.0% at 0.57v now. I pushed the pedal down and let off, and it came back at 0.63v. Pushed it again, 0.45v. It just doesn't want to come back to the same point. Is this indicative of a bad TPS? I've never run across a bad TPS so I honestly just do not know.

Yes I had this same problem on my personal car. It drove me nuts, replaced the TPS and it never gave me trouble anymore.

Typical of cable TB TPSs. If they return differently 3 or 4 times in row, they get replaced. Don't even mess with em.

When I pulled the old one off, the receiver was extremely loose.
